The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month.

Hi everyone,in case you may not know,April is Jazz Appreciation Month.Back in April 2021,right after i got my second COVID vaccination,i was listening to WPFW 89.4 FM[PBS/NPR affiliate]from Washington D.C. The station that plays old school-classic soul, jazz, gospel, blues, southern soul, and go-go music. One Friday evening,i was listening to radio d.j. personality Miss Robyn Holden where she does Jazz Fridays every Friday night from 7:00-10:00pm,and i heard and that April is Jazz Appreciation Month. So,when i started doing my podcast The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast since October 2021:my birthday month,i decided to incorporate that on my podcast. On The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast,i always leave something on the side, whether it’s for holiday or celebrating for the month. Me growing up,when we have days off from school including:Thanksgiving,Christmas,New Year’s Day,and Easter. There were also Halloween,Election Day,Veterans Day,and Memorial Day.When i was little,i always watched The Charlie Brown Specials aired on CBS from back in the day.We know that Halloween,Thanksgiving,Christmas, and New Years are automatic:specials a day off from school that is.But you also need specials for Dr.King Day,Black History Month,Womens History Month,Jazz Appreciation Month,Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month,Mothers Day,Black Music Month,Carribean-American Heritage Month,Juneteenth,Pride Month,Fathers Day,Hispanic Heritage Month, and Native American Heritage Month. So when i get a day off from school from those holidays, you should have something on.Back in January 1983,WBLS FM 107.5 in NYC,was doing a Dr.King weekend on Saturday January 15th.Then on January 16th,1989,The Arsenio Hall Show was doing a Dr.King episode. Then in January 1,1995,WRKS 98.7 FM in NYC was doing all the holiday weekend from Dr.King to Halloween. So on The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast,i’m following WPFW FM’s lead and i’ll be airing a Jazz Appreciation Month on Tuesday April 28th,and my guest is vocalist/saxophonist Steven B. Steven is an in-law to my paternal cousins:The Warrick family of who i see in October during my birthday vacation. I had a pleasure interviewing him back in March, and that episode will be airing on Tuesday April 28th in honor and to close out Jazz Appreciation Month. So please check out my episode Tuesday April 28th on The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast, and if you want to hear his music, please look for his music available right now on I-Tunes,you’ll love it. Take care, god bless, have a good week and please be safe.
