The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast website

Hi everyone,my name is Sam Wilson,Jr.and i’m the creator and host of a music podcast called The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast. The Music Podcast on where i interview singers and musicians from genres of black music:gospel, jazz, blues, old school-classic soul, old school hip-hop,today’s hip-hop and r&b,carribean,latin,afro-beat,afro-latina,blue-eyed soul,disco,go-go,line dances and the lost 45’s. For the past 5 seasons,i got off to a slow start from being in audio when i started being the d.j. of playing music & talking to getting to season 3 of getting guests on my show.I’ve interviewed,a few of my former CBS co-workers who once worked in radio when CBS New York had WCBS Newsradio 880,to former CBS Records employees.I’ve also interview my Truman High School classmates who some were d.j.’s,and i interview just one who was on AM 1460 WVOX’s sister station:93.5 WRTN[later WVIP]FM in New Rochelle,N.Y.,and yes,my paternal & maternal couisins who are in music. I particpated in The ViacomCBS-Paramount People Development Program back in August 2021,and podcast was on the list.My supervisor has said that you have a voice for it,and she said you should sign up.After the meeting,i got a text from my paternal cousin representing The Howard/Guzman family:the offspring of The Wilson-Dix family who i haven’t met,and he’s in the music business, and he suggested me that i should do a music podcast. That’s when i pitched in an idea and named it The Black Soul Music Experience Podcast. Now as i said,it got off to a slow start. No subscribers, and no sponsors. We were recooperating from the COVID pandemic and the death of George Floyd which started The Black Lives Matter Movement and the 2020 election. This podcast came in the nick of time.In my 2nd season of my podcast,i finally had subscribers.I don’t need no sponsors because my podcast is made possible by listeners & viewers like you.So in 2024,after i was laid off from CBS after 35 years,my podcast was monetized, but i’m from the NYC,i have to be a self-employed businessman to have my own podcast like those private detectives on TV,and yes,i do d.j. gigs too. That’s when Anchor.fm had merged with riverside.fm for the video podcast episodes. Today,my podcast is on Apple Podcasts,Spotify,Amazon Music,I-Heart Radio, and Pocket Casts. Now please, help me continue to bring you these black music stories that needs to be told & needs to be exposed & also interview a diversity of singers who were influenced by black music. My influence was the late Frankie Crocker,a radio d.j. personality at WWRL 1600 AM,WBLS 107.5 FM and 98.7 Kiss FM.All 3 radio stations in the NYC,he played anything that had rhythm.By the way,i grew up on Dick Clark,Don Cornelius,Casey Kasem and Wolfman Jack who brought music to television, and being informative like Walter Cronkite,Bill McCreary,Gil Noble,Melba Toliver,Gus Henninberg, and Darlene Rodriguez.
